Welcome to Material World. Please check the information below for simple instructions on installing and running Material World on your Macintosh computer.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
- Color Macintosh with 4 MegaBytes of memory (8 MegaBytes recommended)
- System 7.0 or higher
- QuickTime¬ 2.0
- Sound Manager 3.0
Screen savers are known to cause problems when running Material World. Please disable them before you run Material World.
INSTALLATION
Material World requires QuickTime 2.0. If you don't already have QuickTime 2.0 installed, insert the Material World CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. A window appears on your desktop. Please drag QuickTime 2.0 from the CD-ROM into your extensions folder located inside the System folder on your hard disk. You must restart your Macintosh for QuickTime to work properly. If you have an earlier version than QuickTime 2.0 installed, you will need to discard it so Material World will access version 2.0.
This application also requires Sound Manager 3.0. If you don't already have Sound Manager installed, please drag the version provided on the CD-ROM into your extensions folder located inside the System folder on your hard disk. You must restart your Macintosh for Sound Manager to work properly.
STARTING MATERIAL WORLD
Insert the Material World CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive and drag the "Material World" icon to a hard drive and a folder of your choice. Double-click the "Material World" icon on your hard drive to start.
KEY COMMANDS
COMMAND-Q, to quit the program.
FOR BETTER PERFORMANCE
Material World requires QuickTime 2.0, Sound Manager 3.0 and Apple's CD-ROM extension. (The correct versions of QuickTime and the Sound Manager are included on the Material World CD-ROM.)
Software extensions which increase the capacity of your computer's hardware RAM may cause performance problems with Material World. If you have performance problems running Material World, please disable any unnecessary System Extensions.
Incoming messages from network applications may interrupt the Material World program. For best results, make AppleTalk inactive in the Chooser before starting Material World.
